1. We are getting killed selling our assets off piecemeal at fire sale prices.
2. If we are going to keep spending beyond our means we are going to need a lot more money than we have.
3. Let's just admit the politicians do not have the resolve to clean up America’s financial mess.
4. Why not just put America up for sale on eBay?
I know you think it's preposterous. But is it?
Here's My Reasoning:
1. America is in much worse financial shape than anyone wants to admit.
2. We are the world's largest debtor.
3. We live way beyond our means.
4. 60% of America’s budget is made up of untouchable entitlements. An additional 20% of the budget that’s remaining can never be funded and is also virtually untouchable. So the politicians focus on the 20% which they know, even if it were reduced to zero, would never resolve our financial mess.
5. We cannot afford the current amount and future growth of our budgeted entitlements – what we owe is more than the total value of all the public bonds and public stock equity in the world according to Bernstein.
6. Piece by piece, we are selling off our assets at fire sale prices to pay for what we can never afford – now or in the future.
7. In a year from now the dollar will be worth a lot less and keep declining more and more in years to come. Since 1908, the dollar has declined 95%.
Let's Address Your Concerns:
· Are you concerned that after our government pays off all our obligations there won’t be much left to go around? You may be right. But, what about America’s great productive power, innovation and huge wealth the politicians keep selling us on?
For Those of You Who Remain Unconvinced:
· Are you saying we are too deep in the hole?
· Are you saying we are bankrupt?
· Are you saying America’s in decline like other superpowers of the past? Rome. England.
You are Saying America Is Up For Sale Now?
· Look at the $150 billion stimulus package. Do you really think it will build long-term jobs and growth?
· The cheapening of our currency. Do you really believe the pundits who are already defending cheaper dollars? You don't agree with the argument that we will have cheaper goods to sell?
· Do you really think in the long run we will not have greater demand and real growth by cheapening the dollar?
· Cheapening our currency makes our assets cheaper. And foreigners will keep buying America at or below wholesale.
· We already have exported many of our jobs and manufacturing capacity.
Who Really Benefits From America’s Current Policies?:
o China's factories
o China's employment
o China's wealth-by getting more and more of America
Who Loses?:
o America's factories
o America's employment
o America's wealth
Did You Know That Historically Countries Which:
o Sell off their manufacturing capacity decline.
o Depreciate their currency ultimately decline.
o Promise benefits and entitlements that they cannot afford decline.
o Countries-like people-who live beyond their means; get stressed out; mortgage their children's future; decline and effectively go bankrupt.
What Can Our Country Do?
o Go back to basics and fundamentals.
o Stop promising what you can not afford.
o Go back to core values- Pay as you go.
o Stop looking for others-the government-to bail you out.
o Stop the Group Greed of certain financial institutions and big business interests which enslave people in debt and in buying things they don't need or are detrimental to them.
o Guarantee equal opportunity not equal outcome.
o Pay teachers more and make them and the students much more accountable.
o Attack entitlements. America cannot afford them. Admit it. Restructure it so the very rich get less.
o Restructure Health Care. Must create a rationing system. Current Health Care with Aging boomers will bankrupt U.S. = US.
o Let the economy purge itself. It's messed up already.
o Get tough on tough issues with China, India and others. Especially on trade and on emissions and global pollution. They need us more than we need them – at least for now.
